Well finally the day arrived and passed, and our 20 seconds of fame came and went too.
The episode we were asked to be involved in was around the Inspired Delorean Car, made famous by its abject failure, and of course, Back to The Future Movie.
We had great fun with Ant Anstead and the film crew, CAD drawing the component for the Delorean DMC 12 front strut, running it off on my favourite machine (LVD Laser Cutter), then off he went to try to appease the misery of Philip Glenister (please smile sometime soon)
The airing was last Sunday, and of those of you that are interested the link is HERE
The amount of people that spotted us was surprising, and it was nice to get involved in a different world for a few hours. Impulse concentrate mainly serving the Retail Sector, but an important part of our day to day manufacturing comes from some really quite diverse sectors:
we produce Prop Components for the Film Industry, currently running off axes for the new Peter Pan movie being filmed, starring Hugh Jackman and due out in 2015 (produced by Berlanti Productions)
Anyone who knows us will know we have laser cut all of the Captain America Shields used in the Marvel movies – which is not as straight forward as it appears, as these are 3D structures made from Alunimium Spinnings.
We produce Bracketry for Caterham Cars – and also Architectural Interiors, working with Bespoke Designers and Architects.
Its refreshing to use our expertise both creatively and practically to create items of beauty and sometimes push boundaries to bring inspired ideas to reality.
Back to now- World Cup Approaching, and we continue to enjoy our work for Nike, don’t really want to comment about Englands chances, but we do enjoy the Nationalistic hope and expectation felt over the next few weeks… C’mon England.
