Along with the wall bays Impulse manufactured for Thorntons, we made acrylic mobile plinths for the products and items to be noticed easier. Also when we placed them together, it snaked down the store creating a winding path of chocolate!

The art of the chocolatier!

Today, chocolate has become one of the most versatile and beloved foods in the world. And yet it’s become so much more – Thorntons have an emotional, sensual connection with chocolate. It comforts us, delights us, draws us in and gives us a taste experience unlike any other. Simply put, we love it. And the humble beans it comes from have had a heck of a journey over the past 4,000 years.

Nothing beats the presence of a strong Freestanding Display unit, whether it be permanent, or a cardboard temporary FSDU, we have designed it to suit your needs and either dispatch, made up and ready for the shop floor, or in KD / Flat Pack format to be built up in store. Graphic areas are there to enhance with strong branding and information around the product range being displayed.”

Millions of people enjoy it in all its delicious forms

We love chocolate!

Here at Thorntons, we’ve been crafting chocolate for almost a century. That’s a lot of know-how that goes into each and every chocolate we make.

It all started back in 1911 when travelling confectioner, Joseph William Thornton, opened up a sweet shop in Sheffield.
He didn’t know then just how successful it would become, so he carried on with his day job and entrusted his 14‐year‐old son Norman to run the shop. He handed over the keys and told him to “make this the best sweet shop in town” ‐ and that’s exactly what he did.

Word was starting to spread about the Thorntons shop, so Norman brought on his brother, Stanley. With lots of quirky sweet treats like ‘Violet Cachous’, ‘Sweet Lips’ and ‘Phul-Nanas’, they sold the best confectionery around. But it wasn’t until the 1920’s that the brothers were making their hand‐made chocolate truffles, crystallised fondants and, of course, their famous Thorntons special toffee.
Then, there was no stopping them.

A lot has changed since the first humble store in Sheffield

But some things have stayed exactly the same. They still only use the finest cocoa beans to create the chocolate ‐ whether it’s dark, milk or white. And whether they're making their famous toffees and chocolates or hampers stuffed full of treats, the passion for chocolate and love of craft still shines through in everything we do.
