Each of the major retailers are experiencing a period of significant change and are being forced to re- examine strategies and re -investment plans as consumer choice accelerates.

Poundland, B&M, Topps Tiles, Specialist Garden and Flooring Retailers as well as over 3000 independents make up the total retail market in the UK.

Gardening is an important sector within DIY retail.
Whilst the weather has an important role to play in terms of seasonal sales, the arrival of new retailers and products in the DIY and Gardening market has also played its part in recent years in a very competitive market place.
With a wide range of retail and product choice now available to the consumer, the increased demand for well – designed, functional and attractive in – store POS merchandising and displays are a key element of brand and retail sales success throughout the year.
Impulse has designed and manufactured wall bay, gondola, freestanding, counter and shelf activity POS displays for clients, brands and retailers alike in this sector.

Dulux’s ”Value Added Paints” – a range of products that offer a superior performance and are tailored to specific locations in the home.
The POS display project required Impulse, working with Cirka Creative, to design and deliver an outstanding POS display solution to be able to fit 4 formats of racking throughout the B&Q estate.
The rollout was to all 275 B&Q stores across a variety of key brand names including Endurance, Kitchen and Bathroom and Once paint ranges.
The materials were predominantly sheet metal fabricated with injection moulded pockets and real wood paint chips.
Painted swatches were shown on the display and colour accurate swatch cards were made to enable shoppers to take home to test before buying.
All colour collateral was stored behind hidden doors and made clever use of existing B&Q shelving.
Dulux’s Travels In Colour launch in 2015 saw a total of more than 1000 displays rolled out over a 6 week period with 750 of them sited in the major UK retail DIY group stores including B&Q, Homebase and The Range.
The brand required a range of both cardboard and metal ‘pillar style’ freestanding displays to give a premium feel and easy communication in- store.
The launch was part of a £15million integrated Dulux media plan.
McCulloch’s lawn mower displays were launched to great acclaim in 2017 across 16 countries.
Impulse produced a suite of 770 displays ranging from a small FSDU for the cordless range of Trimmers, Strimmers, Hedgecutters and leafblowers, to the 3metre x 3metre unit to demonstrate ROB, the Robotic mower that automatically cuts your lawn without any human intervention!
The POS display constructions were manufactured to suit various requirements from actual white painted wood fencing with artificial grass to simpler cost- effective smaller footprint card FSDUs.
All the displays were flat packed to enable economical shipping across Europe.
Craig & Rose push feed tester display units were designed to show the 1829 and Artisan ranges to full effect.
The units promote and display paint held in small jars as take home testers.
The display rack has a rear sprung pusher fitted to an extruded pvc runner with an injection moulded clip and a coiled spring which ensures the jars are pushed forward to give maximum product exposure and to have a consistent showing of all colour facings.
This in-store execution is supported by beautifully printed Di-bond Header panels in large format (panels are 2000 x 500mm, sited across the top of the products on shelf).
To date there have been over 340 units placed in – store.
